Muffin Tin

Muffin Tin

I fill each tin
With a soapy grin
Angled away from me in the sink
Dissolving less desirable pieces
In this soapy drink.
The process releases
Muffin mush to descend down the drain
While I attempt in vain
To scrub the staining adorners
Trapped in those circular corners.

Ordering Doubt

Ordering Doubt

Eating out, I stare at the menu
Then you ask me if I need some more time
And I’m lost in words but manage “yes”.
Guessing which picture accompanies the text,
I’m vexed by constant revision.
Indecision, I order doubt.

Orange Taste

Orange Taste

She ate too many of those Doritos
So her fingers looked like Cheetos
Until she sucked off the orange stick
With a full mouth lick
So as to not waste
The orange taste.

The Couch-Line of Toys

The Couch-Line of Toys

An army of toys deploys it’s frontline
Into uncharted territories to find
The mysteries underneath the couch that lie
Out of the reach of my
Hand’s swipe for figurines and Duplos,
Unwilling to join those
We’ve already put away.
I give up, knowing that another day
I’ll lift the couch and find
The toys, now out of sight inside my mind.

Utensils for Eating Ice Cream

Utensils for Eating Ice Cream

Ice cream should only be served with a small spoon.
So that the end will not arrive too soon.
A large spoon makes the moment all too short
But will suffice if it’s a last resort.

The other exception that I could make
Is eating ice cream with my cake.
I wouldn’t break the cake-fork combination
For the small spoon Ice cream sensation.

Plastic forks though, change the rule of play
Since you don’t know when a prong might break away.
When using plastic, a spoon’s the way to go
To be safe on all utensil rules I know.

But the one ice cream utensil that’s the best
By far, held up above the rest
That trumps the spoon rules I suppose
Would be the one that’s underneath your nose.
