I started a new blog over at www.poetechie.com. Go check it out if your interested in discussing poetry and where it fits in with digital technology. I’m always interested in people’s thoughts, so let me know what you think.

Pearl of Wisdom
Pearl of Wisdom
Not to be a phrase-attacker,
But “The World is your Oyster” seems out of date
Perhaps more people would relate
To “The world is your Oyster Cracker.”
Whisky Flirt
Whisky Flirt
A little whisky to whisk me away
When all I need is a second glass
to pass on a delay
Making things sway
Like words that linger and stay
Too long that they stumble
Making me mumble
Through a cracked smile
Distorted behind a quarter glass
Of whiskey tipping to pass
My lips
In small mischievous sips.
Full Moon
Full Moon
I love standing on my porch looking at a full moon
Unless it’s a random naked buffoon
‘Cause then I’d respectfully have to pass
Rather than stare at somebody’s crass.
I like it when moon beams pierce through a cloud
And shine down on us when the sun’s not allowed.
But moon streaks shine down “where the sun don’t”
So I’d rather not look, and I simply won’t.
But often my eyes are drawn to a stare
When they notice my legs are exceedingly bare
‘Cause sometimes I go on my porch unaware
I’m Pants-less participant standing out there.
After Church
After Church
I go to church and get filled up with tons of graces
But I’m left with empty spaces.
There’s a hole inside. There’s room for one more thing
That only a post-church donut can bring.
Notified of Comments
Notified of Comments
I’m reading the note-I-wrote’s retaliation
Through an email notification
Telling me that people I don’t know
Are having a go
At my comment once forgotten.
I typed my thoughts and now I’m caught in
An endless cycle of two “friends”
Whose disputing never ends.
Your Company Doesn’t Exist
Your Company Doesn’t Exist
Our fingers walked through yellow pages
Instead of across a keyboard.
Dancing ‘cross clicking lettered stages,
Were typing keywords toward
A page of search results to find a link
Since our minds lead us to think
That, unless there’s some page we’ve missed,
Your company cannot possibly exist.
Candy Disappearing
Candy Disappearing
Candy that I shouldn’t be eating
Is slowly depleting
from the candy jar
that’s not too far
from my hand that inches toward
the candy that I hoard,
one piece at a time
added to those that I’m
already busy digesting
until their final resting.
New-You’s Resolution
New-You’s Resolution
I’m not going to make a New Year’s resolution,
One that takes an idea of mine and artificially inflates
The idea based on calendar dates.
Rather, I have a new solution.
I’m making a New-You’s Resolution that insists
That I start my resolutions now
Insisting that it’s my choice that will persist
Instead of a calendar vow.
This way when July 27th rolls around
And New Year’s resolution’s are long gone,
In those moments when the 1st cannot be found
I’ll find myself leaning upon
My New-You’s Resolution letting me renew
My outlook on life and what I do
Based on constant choices and decisions
Instead of New Year’s Visions.
Deleting the Block
Deleting the Block
It’s so easy to hit delete or back space
Any moment and erase the poem I’m typing.
While I’m griping about not writing
Waving fists at the block
To leave him in shock
With the fact that I wrote
Something like this note.
